People don't lie...who told you that?

1. the "good lie" In certain situations it's better to lie then to tell the truth, ex. woman asks her husband if he thinks she's fat or ugly, husband knows that by telling the truth he will hurt his wife's feeling so he lies and tells her she is skinny or beautiful

2. There's the other life were people act out do to their own self interests, ex. teen wants to go to party, parents say no so teen lies and says there going to friends house when they are going to party.

There are many reasons why people lie however one must know when to draw the line, when its ok to lie in a certain situation and when its definently not ok

To cover up guilt from wrong-doing. To manipulate or profit (defraud) another person.
Because they have not given their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ and crucified the fleshly carnal nature and put away lying. They are serving the father of lies.
"A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. Prov. 12:22
The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. Proverbs 12:13
Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. Proverbs 12:22"

i think people lie out of pure guilt. they may (or may not) feel that what they are doing is wrong, so they make up a story that they think is convincing. people might lie to make them selves look better in other peoples eyes, or to pull up on the popularity chain. lying is stupid. people should just be themselves...

Spoiled,
It's sometimes easier to tell a lie than to tell the truth, so people take the easy way out.

Unless they are pathological liars, most people lie for personal gain or to protect someone.
