Sit down and write down all your expenses for the month (for bills, rent, loans, cellphone, groceries, etc). Then figure out how much you should be earning in a week to cover those expenses. On top of that, add in how much you would like to put away into savings for the future. Then on top of that, add in how much you would like to spend in a week on recreation and shopping for clothes, CDs, etc.
Once you have a figure, you'll know what range of salary you want to make.
This probably won't be what you'll start off making, but eventually, you will work your way up to this number.

Depends on where you live. I live in PA with a wife and 3 kids and make about $60k and it still seems like we're scraping by a lot of months. We have a pretty nice house with some land, but other than that we don't have fancy cars (my truck has 200,000 miles on it) or anything. I would say that we live comfortably though. There are a lot of things that we have that I could do without (like cable tv). I think the biggest expenses you have to watch out for are cars and houses. Riding public transit has really helped me keep my transportation costs down.

A "good salary" will depend on many things such as what you do for a living, where you live, your monthly bills, your marital status and how much money you want to be able to save each month. For the vast majority of the population, a "good salary", will probably be between $70,000-$75,000/yr.
As for a paramedic's salary, I really don't know what the pay range would be . . . sorry.

you would have too live Conservative on paramedic salary unless your wife worked also. A good salary is at the end of the month you had enough money to pay all your expenses and had a few hundred left over to save for a rainy day and believe me you there is always a rainy day

IMO, it depends on what you do. For a single person living on their own, no kids and etc I would say around 40k but fo a person with a family I would say atleast 45-50k (minimum)
I dont really know much about Paramedics, but from what I've heard on them, they make pretty good, so I dont think you'll have a problem with living comfortably....

It would depend in large part where you live and how far your money goes towards living expenses. If you live in a pricey state like NY or Calif, you'd need a higher salary to live as comfortably as someone who lived in an area with a lower cost of living, like many of the states in the mid west or south.

It really depends on where you live. Each state, country, county has it's own standard of living.
Generally enough to pay rent and bills each month, and eventually buy a house and afford a mortgage. You should also be able to put aside at least $250-$500 a month in savings.

I would have to say that all depends where you live. In lets say Kansas you can probably live off of 35,000 or 40,000 comfortably. California or New York you might not be as comfortable.

Depends on where you live, drastically.
I'm from southern california...where average housing prices are about $750,000. but a house in like Colorado might run for about $150,000...big difference there.
for me, I'd need a family income of about $120,000 to live well out here.

A good salary? I believe this to be an oxy-moron. A good salary is one where you can choose your lifestyle and not trade your time to get it.
