I called the doc now, and they said it was probably just muscle stretching and round ligament pain. thanks to all those who answered

It does sound like the round ligaments stretching, but since it is something you didn't experience with your previous pregnancy, a phone call to your doctor would certainly be reasonable... anything that you would consider out of the ordinary would be enough reason to call. Better safe than sorry.

I agree with these women, although I am not a woman, I would seek medical advice, you may have stretching of the abdominal muscles, which would cause pain like you describe, but see a doctor and get it looked at, to rule out any complications, which could have an effect downstream. Congrats on the baby, and I hope he or she is a healthy one.

sounds like things are just stretching out down there. thats just what happens when things get started to some women. just like when you do crunches your muscles are being pushed around. if it is cramping i would go to the doctor but it souns like you mean a muscle pain not cramping. good luck and congrats on the baby.

the same thing happened to me when i was about 6 months along and i went to the er i had pulled muscles in the lower part of my stomach from lifting thins that i should not have. You need to get check by either your doctor or the er doctor right away. I was put on bed rest.

I'm ten weeks pregnant and have started to experience the same pain you describe. It's like I woke up after a heavy workout session on my stomach. My doctor has told me it is stretching pains which I suppose does make sense. However it is always good to talk to your doctor just to make sure. Good Luck!!

Its just your ligements that hold the uterus stretching. THe pain was worse with my second pregnancy. My pregnancies were close together though, so my muscles probably didn't have time to heal!

had the same issue. It is the ligaments that hold your uterus stretching. Along the sides and across the top right? and sometimes twingy? It totally had me freaked and I call my ob, he said not to worry and told me what it was
