Or the rest of Africa for that matter. Bush just gave away another 14 billion (with a 'b') of our tax money over here, to bail out savages whose lives are dictated by witchdoctors, native superstition and other savages that tell them to eat beetroot and garlic if they get AIDS.

I resent it that if I get a cheque for two grand, I'm lucky if I take thirteen hundred home. That's almost half my dough, and it pisses me off that a portion of that goes to support people that refuse to support themselves.

Personally, I don't care if everyone other than my loved ones drops dead in Africa (or Europe for that matter), I don't know these people, they've never done anything for me, and I really don't care about them.

Is it fair that the US taxpayer should always be called upon to bail out third world savages that can't take care of themselves?

travelinghobo - there are no innocent people in the Middle East, so I don't care if we kill them all.

dWali - how am I a racist? I'm taking into account that you're not the brightest of people, but how do you justify calling me that name?

gunner2za - I'm taking into account that you're not the brightest spark, either, but I just laugh when people say that the conflict the USA finds itself in is over oil. Are you and others of your diminished intellectual capacity familiar with the events that took place on the morning of Tuesday Sept 11 2001? Or was that about oil, too?
Regarding the oil, it belongs to the West, anyway. In the fifties it was the West's technology that extracted the oil from the ground in the Middle East. That technology was stolen from the West via nationalization of the land (much like the criminal land theft taking place in what used to be South Africa) once the Arab savages realized the extent of the fortune they were sitting on.

But I also understand that people like yourself are needy and feel entitled to handouts.

It you look at the past, Europe and the US have pumped in billions upon billions of dollars into Africa and it is no better than before. It is in fact merely getting worse.

Africa always cries out for money with the one hand, whilst the other hand gives the finger to Europe and America. That is an absolute joke.
I think that the Western world should stop giving hand-outs. If they really want to eradicate poverty, then they should rather get rid of the evil dictators that seem to plague the continent.

Travelinghobo - "the Western world ruined these peoplels lives with their greed"??? Geez, that's funny. Are you a stand-up comedian by any chance? Africa ruined itself through its own greed. Instead of attacking Morris, I would advise you take a visit throughout Africa so that you can see what it has become after the European powers left. I can assure you that in many places you will find a cesspool of greed, corruption and a total lack of respect for human dignity.

*Edit*
Oh shame, I see that I got some thumbs down.
Instead of just giving a thumbs down why don't you put forward your own thoughts. It is an act of cowardice to merely put a thumbs down but without justifying it.
Can you tell me where I am wrong in my assessment above?
Probably not because it is the truth. I find it incredible that so many people seem to fearful of the truth yet they refuse to put forward their own opinion or ideas. Big Boo Hoo!

I think what annoys me the most about the whole thing is most of that money (which is split between the 6 worst infected countries in Africa) is used mostly to fund schemes encouraging abstinence, not to hand out condoms for prevention.
As grateful as I am that someone is trying to step in and help, they are going about it the wrong way! People have been having sex for millions of years, if they think a few signs saying "Say No to Sex" posted around Africa is gonna make people stop, they've got another thing coming.

Those who can Should. I don't agree with alot of the stuff that you said, however, multinational companies can and should do more. As for europe, World War 2, ever heard of it?? Or even the present war on terror. There is alot being done by security agencies in europe to keep themselves and the US safe. The US and europe depend heavily on each other. Most of the US's allies are in europe.
Aswell as this Its the government even if they didn't give the money as aid, you would still get it taken off you.
Aids is becoming a global pandemic. It needs to be stamped out now.

I think the willingness to help those who cannot help themselves is what separates the intelligent folks from the rest of the population. Plus the US is not a good neighbor when it comes to the global village so the least we can do is make *some* people's lives better than they were without us, instead of the other way around.

You comments show your ignorance. Would your prefer billions of dollars go towards killing inncocent people in the middle east? Atleast Bush did something good for a change. Maybe if you got an education you would make a decent wage, thus not having to wine about helping other nations with 'your' tax money.

And if you read on this topic a bit, you will find its the western world that basically ruined the livesof these 'savages' with their greed.

If everyone in US had your opinion on Africa, we might still be stuck with you here. Thank heavens they accepted you, one less racist for us to deal with.
