I have only been to Texas once, so I'm certainly not an expert. I found nothing about them annoying or rude, but there were several things I found amusing.
1. The pickup trucks. In Texas, a man's truck is his castle.
2. About 80% of the homes that I was in had a clock in the shape of Texas, just like on "King of the Hill".
3. Cultural dissonance. I was at a very upscale mall (valet parking, very pricey shops) yet the sign at the entrance to the mall had a 30 foot high pair of cowboy boots beside it. Ugly ones, too. :)
All in all, I must say that the people were wonderful, very polite and kind to an obvious "Yankee".

I am from Texas and very proud of it!! Aren't you proud of the state you live in? Or are you so ignorant to know what pride is? Or are you arrogant and obnoxious by stereotyping Texans? You look like the idiot I don't LMFAO!!!!

I grew up with horror stories about us Yankees being treated poorly by Texans, especially those stationed at military bases there.
Every single Texan I've met have contradicted that image. Some of the nicest people I have ever met are Texans. I may not agree with their choice in politicians, but I hold a lot of respect for the people.

Texans are proud of their heritage, just as I would hope any person in any state would be proud of their heritage. I don't see anything annoying about that.

I have known lots of people from Texas, and they are always nice. Anywhere you go there are going to be annoying people.
I hate the way some people insist that they have Indian in them, so what, everybody does.

Most of my experience is the latter. People thinking that the spot on the map they come from makes them big stuff. That doesn't mean they're all that way, just seems like it.
To the Texans, it's fine to be proud of your state, but it is overboard to insult every other place. Especially when you have hardly been anywhere else.

Its so flat. Its ok to express pride in differences-that's what makes this nation flow.Better to know all ways of living and laws then to live blind, otherwise no perspective to anything.

George Bush makes us all look bad, doesn't he? We aren't all like that. It's never good to stereotype.
