I have just received a brand new apple MacBook laptop and the instructions don't state how long it needs to be charged for before I first use it.

Any suggestions?

It doesn't matter... it should have a half charge as any other laptop or portable machine such as a mp3 player or cell phone.

Best to use it completely until it's near dead 1% or so and plug and charge and leave it plugged in. If you are ever leaving your computer with out using it it's best to use the battery until it gets half way, and then turn off the computer. It helps with battery life.

I suggest every time you use it without being plugged in, use the battery as much as possible to empty before charging back up.

If I remember correctly, my Mac laptop's instructions were to calibrate the battery on the first use. Here's a link on how to calibrate your battery.

bypass away it plugged in in one day. later on, carry out 3 prevalent finished rates and finished discharge. that's a thank you to concern any Li-Ion battery. as quickly as each month from there on, have in straightforward terms a million finished discharge.

Between 16-24 hours.
Overnight is normally a good bet. Have fun with your new toy, although why you didn't just buy a PC is anyone's guess.

Keep charging it even if it says it is done, the meter is never accurate anyway.

Have a look on the Apple website, their support section is excellent.
