Last year, I felt a little guilty when my friend of five years gave me a gift and I had nothing for her. The issue is that she didn't give me a gift card; she actually gave me something I would like and wear. Now that Christmas time is nearing again, I am anxious because she is really picky about everything. Her clothes always have to be a designer brand and a specific style, and her food and hygiene products have to be totally organic. She is also a big-spender, but the most I can spend is $50-70, as I am on a tight budget. The last time I gave her a gift, it was a purse, and she expressed a little dismay since it was probably not her style.

Is it okay to get her a gift card to one of her favorite clothing stores? OR is there a chance she'll think that :
a) I'm afriad that she won't like a non-card gift I give her
b) I'm too lazy
c) I'm a cheapskate,or
d) that I am not very close to her?
All the above scenarios are definitely NOT what I want her to think

If a gift card definately choose it form a store she loves so it will mean you thought about it.

Gift cards are of course less personal than a gift - but why wast money on something she doesnt like. You could present it neatly with a little toy christmas bear holding it, Or put it inside a candle, or a tin full of goodies.

Consider these gift ideas too.
Digital photo frame - saw one for $60 recently
A real live christmas wreath
A magazine subscription (something stylish might do for her, national geographic would do for me)

I think that the gift card is a perfect gift. I would find a visa gift card that she could use anywhere. That way u can give her the option to use it anywhere and anyhow. I got one last year and i was perfect. I didn't have to stand in line and try to return something that I didn't like. I used it to buy gas, groceries, etc. I think that $40-$50 dollars is more than generous for one person. And if she doesn't like it then maybe you need a new friend. Cause Christmas is not about the gifts. Its about love. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I have a best friend of over 20 years,(we are both 29) she is the most picky person in the world. We can't even go out to dinner without her having a problem with where we go.

I gave her a Gift Card for her birthday and she loved it.

She said, "Good now I can go get that dress that I wanted".

I think a Gift Card inside of a beautiful X-mas card with a nice little note from your heart will be a perfect X-mas gift for your Picky friend.

Good Luck
&
Merry Christmas

go ahead and give her the gift card. tell her that you spent hours looking at everything and thinking hard about everything you found but saw so many things and couldn't decide really which one would be the best one so finally one of the ladies offered you a gift card so that the person could decide themselves.
