How about space elevators. Current plans are to have a teather anchored to the earth which can be climbed to get into space. I think when nano technology blossoms we will be able to build giant skyscrapers out of diamond (or stonger yet undiscovered materials) with elevators reaching all the way into space.

Matter anti-matter is already a proven technology. Some thing that if gravity exists so too should antigravity. The most promising is Interdimensional travel through gravity warping( worm holes) Once worm holes can be synthesised safely every other kind of travel will be useless because we could go anywhere in this dimension instantaneously. Now if we find that there are other dimensions that we want to travel to then we would need to come up with something else
