His 23 million must be inflating the average.
I thought they only made about 15,000 a year.

Walmart is only one company. There was a report on CNN Headline news last month that said the highest paid CEO made > $400million in salary; not including bonuses.
What will fix it? Only when people become outraged and demand some common sense in salaries. The government won't do anything (don't wanna mess with the free market, they will say), but write letters to the editor... find out what your favorite company CEO is making... What is the multiplier between the lowest paid worker and the highest? 10x? 50x? 1000x?

The reason is that the good employees who are worth more than 18k per year don't stay at Wal-Mart. They go to higher paying jobs and there are large numbers of people just looking for a paycheck that can fill the holes of the people that leave. Do employees at Wal-Mart need to be educated or have specialty skills?

that's the way it goes with every big company in the untied states, look at Exxon mobile their CEO makes like $350.00 per minute and look at how high our gasoline is now. when Chrysler was having to be bailed out by the federal government Lee Iaccoca took twenty million salary for the first year and made all the Hurley employees take a pay cut. There is no justice in this country when it comes to fat cat greed

Down with walmart thats why they higher mostly lower class people so they don't read that the management is being paid well while they get near minimum wages.
I have a friend who got a job at walmart we both went to the same college same majors but all through college and highschool I did office temping to earn money and experiance he didn't we both applied at the same time when supposedly 20 spots were open and the manager even said only 14 people applied a month after the positions opened he got the job I got rejected after getting rejected I as a joke applied again under a different name and everything put no work history except paper route and got a call the next day and was hired I told the person who called thanks but no thanks I found someplace else to work

That's just the way it is. It works the same way with all the fast-food companies.
How much do you think the CEO of places like McDonalds, Wendys, Burker King, etc, etc, make???? While the regular employees have to get by on minimum wage. It sucks but it's been this way for as long as I can remember

OK, please shut the **** up. I'm sorry, but he's the CEO! If you have made your way to the top of a fortune-500, multi-billion company, he is entitled to the percent of expected profit of the company. I don't know why anyone would think Wal-Mart is doing poorly. They are extremely profitable. Let me ask you this... what should a store clerk working part time make? You don't hear 7-11 or Meijer employees complaining about their wage. They get what is fair for what they do. If I don't work, I don't get paid either.

I am surprised to learn that average Wal-Mart employee making 18K a year. I thought most of them were on food stamps and medicaid

That's crazy. The bottom line is they don't care about their employees. There are always people willing to work for minimum wage. I agree that the workers should strike. Also consumers should boycott them.
