Does anybody else find that they shift thier position on many issues depending on who they are talking to? E.G When talking to my annoying liberal friends I can come accross as rather hard right, whereas when talking to hard right peoplem I can be almost lefty. Is this just me, and if so, does it make me inconsistent or contraversialist?

Hi Richard,

Should you not remain focused on the set views that you have. We're all entitled to them and should stick to them. Have courage of your convictions but be able to hold your ground and express your point of view in a discussion.

I think it's a good thing to be able to see different views on different subjects, i hate it when people won't even consider listening or understanding someone else's opinion. Some people, like you or myself, seem to be able to talk with any kind of people, see different kind of opinions if given the right arguments. -I had a teacher like that, he used to say that there was rarely only one right answer for certains subjects... that it was all about having the right arguments to stand by your answer.

Normal I think.... I always claim that for a good Communist, I'm a good Tory, but for a good Tory, I'm a good Communist.... I believe it's about debate, tolerance and moderation and seeing that all sides have a point of view... just that some are more extreme than others.

It makes you someone who would sacrifice his/her integrity in order to repel others. You are playing what is known as devil's advocate and eventually will be quite wearing and tedious to anyone who may try to get close to you.
Sort yourself out.
