I have 3 ODB codes apparing per my recent "failed" repair emissions test.

PO133
PO128
PO303

I understand each code but per this website...
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/generic/p0303-cylinder-3-misfire-detected.php
...it tells me to "reset code"

HOW WOULD I DO THIS FOR MY 2001 VOLVO S40?

Thanks so much!

It can only be reset with a scan tool or 75 ignition cycles with no problems.

You have a scan tool, correct? If not then you must have one to do this, and follow this procedure.
Once all the faults have been corrected, turn the ignition switch to the "on" position (engine not running). Read the codes again, then depress the (clear) button for five seconds and release. After three (3) seconds the LED should light up. While the LED is lit, depress the button again for five seconds, after releasing the button, the LED should stop shining.
Verify that the memory is erased by depressing the button for more than one second, but not more than three seconds. The LED should flash 1-1-1, indicating the memory is clear.
Glad I could help. Good Luck!!!

1) Have you repaired the O2 Sensor?
2) Have you repaired the cooling temp circuit?
3) Have you repaired the cause of the misfire in cylinter #3?

If you have, then you can disconnect the negative battery cable for > 15 minutes, and the memory SHOULD be reset.
If not, you will need to do the reset with a code reader or a scanner.
NOTE:----> Be CERTAIN to either defeat the security feature of your radio, or at least write down the code sequence for re-establishing access to it.
If this isn't available, try removing the fuse for the PCM and wait for > 15 minutes, then check it.
NOTE 2:-----> Be sure to drive your car for at least 300 to 500 miles, NORMALLY, not all at once. This should include several COLD starts, stop and go driving, driving at 35 - 45 mph with easy throttle and brake activity (Nothing Sudden or harsh unless necessary) and a bit of freeway, perferably with the cruise control.
If this little procedure isn't completed, your car will fail its test again, because the MONITORS haven't been run to completion.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

if you haven't fixed your problems there is no point in reseting the light it will just come right back on.
