Well she probably doesnt have alot of time to spend on herself...so maybe a gift certificate to get her hair done.. a facial....or maybe a massage. A gift card from her favorite Book store or any store for that matter. A couple tickets to see a movie, or a promise to take her out to dinner on a night of her choice.....or one free apartment cleaning. Good Luck !!

OH MY GOSH!
I already gave my sister a gold bracelet and I have no other sisters to do this for, but you should get your sister something from Sephora. If you don't ave a Sephora, you can order online. They have a lot of unique and cool things. She's probably stressed and has weird hours being a med student, so I think she would truly appreciate a gift that allows her to make time for herself.
The coolest thing about Sephora is they will throw in some free samples of your choice and free gift wrapping!
Anyway, I just wish I had another sister to do this for, so I thought I would pass it on to you.

If you can afford it get her a gift certificate to a day of pampering at a spa with the works, hair, facial, massage (she probably could really use one at times) manicure, pedicure

gift certificate - gift card - personal calendar - planner - cash ( Sacajawea dollars are different - cheese - candy - hot chocolate - tea - coffee - watch - toboggan and scarf ( school colors ) - gloves - birth sign - jewelry - cosmetic set - perfume - manicure kit - games - Cd of favorite music or soothing meditation music for relaxation - DVD of favorite music - portable tape recorder and tapes for recording class lectures ( very helpful if profs allow them ) - clothes
