man that is one out of square room you got there bud.
anyhow take the longest length x the longest with in the room and then divide by 9 to convert to yards. remember carpet only comes in 15' or 12' withs

It would depend on the width of the rolls of carpet. Carpet usually comes in either 12' or 15' widths. Then you need to think in terms of cuts of carpet, not total square footage.

For example, if you have 17' 6" x 20' 6" and the carpet it 12' wide, you would want to have 2 pieces 12' wide that are 17' 6" long. (Because you would want to have the "grain" of the carpet running the same way, otherwise the seam is going to be VERY visable)

17' 26"X 20' 6"x20' 4"x 9'13"

The entire length times the entire width

Including waste you need 628 sf of carpet

BTW I assumed that 17' 26" was supposed to be 19' 2". Same for the othere odd ones

you do length times width and i would buy more than that just in case you measured wrong or if you mess up accidentally.

just tell the measurements to whoever works in the hardware store and they will take care of it for you.
