Just remember...its ONLY taxpayers money after all..
My union and boss sit around a table to discuss my pay rise...or even if i will be getting one.
MP's should NEVER be allowed to vote for their own pay rise and pensions.
There should be a forum of INDEPENDENT, HONEST people with no vested interest, who decides what MP's are worth.
These people to be chosen at random each year and to meet in secret so they cant be 'got at'.
MP's should have no idea who these people are or where they meet.
These 'ordinary' people will be mostly on low wages...and highly taxed.
Now that would really sort out the wheat from the chaff.

Agreed, they are all vastly overpaid. Sad really, the mere mortals in this land do not have a say in the matter of pay...or pay rises, OR PENSIONS, for MPs. MPs should be paid by results-you would be in some factory environments for example. Its not right...the whole system of government needs a check up from the neck up and rebuilt towards fairness for all.

Of course he will be looked after as he knows 'where the bodies are buried' politically speaking. In answer to the question there appears to be no limit to Prescotts's greed but then where are the limits to the other MP's greed?. Overpaid they most certainly are.

Years ago politicians used to have a life and career before going into public life, so pay was a compensation for earnings lost. Completely different now with career politicians just wanting to grab all they can get. Greedy sods is all I can say...
