The best thing you can do is just be there for them. You can give advice sometimes if you think it will help but sometimes only time will ease the pain. You are a very good hearted and compassionate person and I am sure that your friendship is greatly appreciated.

Nah, it's more annoying than painful for me in those kinds of situations. I was taught that seccumbing to pain, emotions, or anything else like that is a sign of weakness and so I've developed the ability to ignore either when dealing with them myself, but when others are hurting, it annoys me more than anything when they panic and p!ss and moan and ***** and whine and cry about it - not only is it annoying, but it's also a waste of energy and time that can be used to instead fix whatever it is that's wrong. Panic and crying and moping and self-pity are counter-productive and I just don't understand why other people can't ignore it like I do.

It doesn't hurt me really but I do try to help when I can. If there is nothing that I can do I let that friend know that I'm here for them anytime, that's what friends do! Sometimes though, you need to let the friend figure it out on their own so that they learn the life lesson involved.

yes its terrible.
my middle sister always get in this bad relationships and theres no way of talking to her and she doesnt see it until she is out of it. now she is going out with this guy, he is kind of good but im not so sure anymore, he is very set in the way he thinks and he is always right no one else can be right unless you agree with him, then you are right too.
my little sisters has it worse. she is married to this abuser guy. he does what he wants, threatens her all the time but she thinks she has to stay with him for the sake of the kids. she has a 4 and a 5 yr old with him. she also doesnt want to be divorce again. this is her 2nd marriage. she doesnt want to carry the stigma of been divorce, its better to be married. this is what she thinks, i dont agree with this.
i wish i could help my sisters, its heartbreaking!!!
