if you mean surface area the answer is simple. C= 2500km, using the formula C=pi*d, we can solve for d (diameter). Therefore d = C/pi = 2500/3.141592...... = 795.775 km. Now the radius is just half of that r = d/2 = 397.887km and our formula for area is A=pi*r^2, so A= pi*(397.887)^2 = 497,359 km. Alternately a shortcut to this can be done by re-arranging our formulas, so ultimately A=(C^2)/(pi*4)= 497,359 km. The proof of this formula is simple substitution and is left as an exercise for you.

FOrmula for circumference = C = 2 x pi x r
Area = pi x r^2
from 1st eq r = c / (2 x pi) = 2500 / ( 2 x pi) = 397.9 km
A = pi x 397.9^2 = 497359 km^2

As long as he typed it into the computer correctly that is right.
C = 2 * Pi * R
Solve for R
R = C / (2 * Pi)
A = Pi * R^2
A = Pi * (C/(2 * Pi))^2

Find the radius
C = 2 π r
C / 2π = r. . .Use this formula
- - - - - -
2500 / 2π = r
2500/2(3.141592654) = r
2500 / 6283185307 = r
397,8873577 Km
The answer is 397.89 km Rounded to two decimal places.

Find area
A = π r²
A = 3.141592654(397.89)²
A = 3.141592654((158316.4521)
A = 497365.8029 Km²
The answer A = 497365.80km ² Rounded to two decimal places.
