Scrapped on cash this year and want to make homemade gifts. Some of the things I was thinking of doing was making various breads like pumpkin and zuccini. I also have a ton of photos left from my wedding which I never gave out. The thing is I got married two years ago and was needing a creative idea on how to present this as a gift.

I would love to give gift cards, but spending a few dollars on ingredients for baked goods goes a long way. Again scrapped on cash, cant give gift card or spend a lot of money on people this year.

I think the idea of homemade breads is great.. Jams and chutneys are great and easy too and with a bit of gingham and ribbon you can present it really beautifully.
You could present these gifts and use the photos of your wedding as cards of authenticity and add a bit of humour. Like a tag. Get some nice card that is slightly larger than twice the size of the photograph. Fold the card in two so the edges meet. If you place the card over the card now you should have a good border to frame the picture. You can make the frame as large as you want or even cut out creative shapes in line with the festive season. Cut out your desired shape/size from one half of the cardboard and then glue three sides to seal it and then you can slip in your photo. This means that your recipients can re-frame it or put it in an album if they wish. Use a hole punch in one corner and slip ribbon through it so you can attach it to the pressies. On the back of the card you could write...'Home made gifts from the little wife (check reverse for proof of wife status)' or something like that. Use a glitter pen.
Sorry I know this is a really bad explanation but if the idea appeals feel free to email me at missmaycg@aol.com and I will try to explain better.
Good luck and enjoy your baking!
OK it's just an idea of the top of my head. But I would love it!

Home made food is the best. Send me some too! Looovvvve it. Everyone has so many things I'm doing food baskets too. Fudge, microwave kettle corn, Hot chocolate and cider packets, Giradelli bars that were on sale at walgreens recently, candy canes, and pffernuse (german cookies), and a movie in my dad's basket.
Why not print out Christmas cards or notes that say something like " the honeymoon is finally over. Can you believe it has been 2 years. We've had a chance to organize my pictures, here are some we wanted to share with you.

I think making the breads is a great idea.....there are many way to wrap them up so they are festive...and as far as the pictures.......one year I made Picture Albums...I just bout cheap dollar store albums..the bigger ones....then bought some material...some pillow stuffing and a few frame mats (4x6 so that they are smaller than the album)....then using a glue gun...I cut the material to fit completely around the album with some extra...glued to the back making sure to cover the inside too.....then using the glue covered the front with stuffing then the material. Next I took the same material and cut a square to fit the mat, a little bigger to wrap around the edges, cut the middle out and glued it first...stuffed the frame and pulled the materail around. Then glue 3 sides to the front of the album leaving one to insert the picture of choice.
Hopefully this didn't confuse you....if you need more instructions feel free to email me...Good Luck !!!!
Merry Christmas !!!

Zucchini bread is old hat in my circle (we all know that it's not very hard to make) and giving them a picture of you is sortof a self-centered idea. No offense, but that's how they might see it. If you like to cook you can make some really beautiful Christmas cookies, something that looks special. I just wondered if you think they might like a pan filled with your favorite recipe for the freezer, with recipe included. Use the disposable kind of aluminum pans. After the holiday cooking, I'd love to have some chicken enchiladas or turkey tettrazinni in the freezer!

give em a chore chart where every time they do a chore then you give em a button. they then proceed to put that button in a jar, and by the time their jar is full, you can take them to the zoo!
