Abnormality is a very loaded word Dennis. If you're thinking autism, down's syndrome, etc... That that would be no. But if you're thinking variety, or different, then that would be yes.

There are research, but they are on their infancy. Not much has been publiched, but you can find some when you google it.

A resounding scientific and Biblically sound answer, NO! The reason there are so many similarities is that it's the same spirit. That's how they recognize one another even though straight people might not know they are homosexuals. Like alchaholics all act alike except for some personal differences, they are generally like-minded. Same thing with the rationale of a porn or sex addict - selfishness reigns, a sense of living in a fantasy realm, lack of empathy, and objecifying people which is closely related to any abusive mind-set and sinful indulgence and may often be the very cause. Victims of certain abuses often share the same thoughts, feelings, attitudes. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. True Christians share the same mind-set. The voices that different spirits have do not change throughout all of history. Just the devil up to his old antics as usual so there are seducing spirits waxing worse and worse and those who are deceiving and being decieved in the last days. I choose to follow Jesus' voice and when you read the Word and stay close to Him, you won't follow the voice of a stranger.
Also, most homosexuals will admit their argument is not proven and indeed the ones who have left the lifestyle and given their lives to Christ, prove it is not. (vehemenantly denied, they focus on the ones who failed) The reason they make this claim is to deny that their lifestyle is Biblically and morally wrong as if silencing the message and changing everyone else's moral values about it will relieve them of guilt and make it "all right". It also gives them political "clout". Funny how that they want special rights which take away from the religious rights of others which gave them the right to be living in gross sins without being bothered for it. No matter how much attention, power, social acceptance, money, and special favors they get, sadly enough, they will never be satisfied because that spirit is insatiable. The Bible calls it implacable. Sin is always to blame. They cannot blame their choices on a God who didn't make them that way but desires to change their hearts.
"The American Psychiatric Association has only recognized homosexuality as anything other than an emotional dysfunction since 1973." (Wikipedia)

You are born into your sexuality, so yes. It is "genetic." That does not necessarily mean that one of your parents is homosexual, or even that someone in your family is. It's just something that happens during development, and it is not an abnormality, nor is there anything wrong with it. Those who says it's a "sin" really do need help.

I don't know if you would call it an abnormality- but I know studies have shown in many cases there is something different in the brain, therefore it cannot be helped.

No heterosexuality is the abnormality.

It seems that straight men have an underdeveloped hypothalamus gland.

Sad little things.

We need to try to love them despite their disability.

Not an abnormality by any stretch of the means. I would have to say it's more of a congenital trait.
