The best way to prevent your lipstick from bleeding is to line your lips with a good liner. Mary Kay has several shades available for $10.00. Mary Kay also has a product called Age-Fighting Lip Primer for $22.00. It creates healthier-looking lips by fighting fine lines and wrinkles while light-diffusing microspheres decrease their apperarnce. Use it on the lips, inside and outside your lipline, to extend wear and prevent lip gloss from feathering and bleeding.
Don't forget to take care of your lips too. Mary Kay has a wonderful product called Satin Lips, the set is $18.00. You get the satin lips mask which will gently buff away dry skin, follow up with the Satin Lips Balm to keep lips soft and kissable.
If you like I can send you some samples, or help you find a consultant in your area. you can email me www. f_kinnick@yahoo.com

MOISTURIZE! Put on a moisturinxing lip balm before you put on any liner or lipstick. Also, if your lips are chapped or dry your lipstick will always bleed. Try a lip mask. (Mary Kay makes a good one and it is cheap) I use it once a week and takes off the dead skin. After all that. Lipliner/eyeliner is the best thing I have found... Oh yeah I found a new makeup tip that I am trying to spread to everyone! If you use water based gel pens (any color) they make the coolest eyeliner orl ipliner! It doesnt come off until you use soap and water... and it shows up sooo well.. the variety of colors are also endless. It is completely safe! One of my friends has been doing this for years and she doesnt even buy eyeliner anymore... her makeup bag is full of pens! lol

I used to work for Sephora and Bright red lipstick was a mandatory part of the uniform. To control lipstick bleeding when you apply your foundation apply it to your lips as well and then your powder. If you do not use either just buy some pressed powder and apply it. Then you use a liner to the inner part of you lip border, then apply your lipstick. If your lipstick shade tends to change as well try a liner that is one shade darker than you would normally wear with it. When you rub your lips together to blend it keeps adjusts the shade to keep it from changing.

Mary Kay's Age Fighting Lip Primer... this replaced the lip outliner. It prevents bleeding, keep your lipstick on longer and gives moisture and anti-aging properties to your lips all day. Great product! Works with gloss too!

Dab concealer around and on your lips, then line your lips with a neutral colored lip liner (or one that matches you lipstick). Next, carefully apply lipstick and blot excess with a tissue. Dust your lips very lightly with translucent powder and apply another coat of lipstick. This routine will stop your lipstick from bleeding and keep it on for extra long!

Try a lip liner the color of your lips, line and fill in lip area. Also, try concealor all over your lips, set it with translucent powder, then apply lipstick.
Both techniques anchor the lipstick to your lips, and keep it from bleeding/melting off

I agree with the lipliner suggestions. It works really well as an outline and if you color your lips with the lipliner it also helps the lipstick stay on longer.
Mary Kay also offeres a great Lip Primer that helps lipstick stay put.

i agree with the Mary Kay lip outliner. and also if you have dry lips try to use the lip mask and balm before you wash your face it makes a difference on the way your lips feel as well as how your lipstick goes on.
i personally use alot of Mary Kay makeup and i find it is very good.

"I thought it was only veins and arteries that bleed I'm amazed"
haha no.
use a lip liner (the lip liner colour/shade should be the same colour as your lips, NOT the lipstick itself) before applying the lipstick, it prevents the lipstick bleeding, makes it easier to apply, and makes lips look more plump
