Well obviously if it wasn't for Christians then there would be no Christmas therefore the real meaning is about Jesus because that is why Christmas was originally made for - to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
YOU may celebrate it how you want to celebrate it and none of us can intrude on that. We all know Jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December, we cannot be sure of the exact date that he was born so 25th of December just symbolises his birthday,
Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you have a lovely holiday whether you are a Christian or not.

If a very young child was abandoned and never identified, but adopted by some loving parents, they wouldn't know the exact date of birth either..... but they might very well choose a day to celebrate the child's birthday so they can have a celebration like any other child in this culture, right?
Jesus wasn't born on December 25th, but for much of the world it is still Jesus that is the reason for celebrating Christmas. If you choose to discount that as the reason, then it's your loss.
Merry CHRISTmas!

Actually, the true meaning of Yule was for the Pagans to celebrate the winter solstice.
When the xtians decided to become a militant force and force "conversion" on the Pagans, they planted a fake "holy day" in December to take away focus on the Pagan celebration of Yule.
Unfortunately, this happened long enough ago, and has been prettified up by the Catholic Church for so long that most Xtians are unaware of their religious hijackings.
They also seem to forget that their "religion" was forced at knife-point on Pagans - in the Crusades, in the "witch" burnings, and in the Spanish Inquisition.

No Jesus was probably not born Dec.25, it is just a date that symbolizes his birth. The only reason to celebrate christmas is to celebrate HIS coming. Your reasons to celebrate seem selfish.

Why do ppl like you have to come down on anything good about christmas. It is your choice to be so superficial about the whole gifts idea....in my house we honor Jesus and the birth of Jesus on December 25th. Merry CHRISTmas to you:)

The day chosen by the catholic church fit with a pagan festival they were trying to get people to stop attending. It didn't work - people just added the pagan rituals to their Christmas traditions.
Doesn't matter when we celebrate it. Just matters that we give honor to the one to whom honor is due.

So he wasn't born in december. What is your point. The entire reason this holiday started was because of his birth. Do we really even care to know the exact date of his birth? No because this is the day that has been chosen to celebrate it and it has been the tradition for many many years. Celebrating for the presents hopefully is not the biggest part of Chirstmas for you. If it is I must say I am sorry that you are so wrapped up in consumerism. Have a nice day.

to be completely honest this is a new one on me...the 25th of Dec. has always been taught to me as Jesus birthday and that is what I choose to believe I dont care what anyone else says. I believe....That is too bad if that is all that Christmas means to some, what is this world coming to.

That is the real meaning to YOU, yes. But Christmas is about Jesus-- whether he was born in December or not. That's just the way it is.
