Here in the U.S., there is no such thing as "official" or "certified" when it comes to being a dance choreographer. It's possible to become a choreographer with or without a formal education. The key is having the artistic abilities and then getting known for them in the biz.

Books, videos and websites won't help you, as ongoing contact with fellow dancers is the only way you'll fine tune your art and become known. So seek out the best training you can find in your style at either a dance studio, conservatory or accredited school and then branch out from there.
