Waiting a few years will NOT hurt you, if you a solid job. Spend that time doing as many LSAT tests as you can -- the better the score, the better your chances. Cost? Depends on public or private school. What state are you in?

I would wait and sort out your finances because Law School is very costly and bad credit can even hurt your chances in some schools in getting accepted. I would also use that time off to study for the LSATS. You will be fine! Good luck!

Think $20-40K a year. You can get loans to cover pretty much all of it while in school. However, you don't wanna completely fix your finances before applying like having a big savings to draw from. Lots of financial aid is based on need. Just get your credit in order to get the school loans, then apply. Maybe clear up some of that credit card debt in case you need to use it during law school.

My law school had a grant (you don't have to repay) that they gave to lots of us. My buddy had worked for a year and socked away some cash in his savings. He didn't get the grant cuz they saw he had money put away.

I suggest a different profession. There are too many lawyers and not enough jobs. My husband is an attorney and earned a scholarship to attend law school (thank goodness). However, his salary is sad. Everyone thinks that attorneys make a lot of money but the fact is they don't anymore, at least the new graduates. I have earned a master's degree in nursing and earn 30% more than my husband.
