I'm a teen who loves graphic designing, already got a job designing a web site, and I'm right now designing my own book cover!
But...if I went through all the steps...it would create a book.
Here's a link for gif animations:

Another link how to make gifs from a video (really neat):

Free GIF software:

Hope it helps!

If you are trying to create a GIF image you would need a photo imaging editor. First of all I would like to say that Adobe Photoshop has this capability to save image as... then you pick your quality of an image. But keep in mind that a GIF is not really a high quality image for printing purposes, but it can be use resourcefully on the web. That's one way to do it, the next way would to change the file extension at the end of the image, like this, if its a jpeg to a gif you follow these steps,
image.jpg
image.gif
all you do is right click at select rename and change the last 3 letters from .jpg to .gif, Ok good luck !

Simple answer... Use MS Paint.
This would create a simple GIF but doesn't create animated GIFs. You'd need another package for that.

Most graphics programs will allow you to save a file as a gif. Simply tell it to save as or convert to a gif.
What program are you using?

If you've already got the image, re save it with 'Save As' and in the same window as you choose what file to save it in and what to call it there will be a drop down menu where you can choose what format to have it in... hope that helps
