divide 79.99 into 34.99 gives you 0.437 multiply by 100 gives you
43.74 call it 44.00

Divide by a hundred then times by the amount. For instance:
30% of 200 =
30/100 x 200 = 60

To work out a percentage of something express it as 100
very simple example
2% of 10
10 / 100 = 0.1
0.1 x 2 = 0.2
2% of 10 = 0.2
