Old school would have to be a toss up between Joe montana, Dan marino, and John Elway..
But if Peyton Manning keeps up his current pace he will soon become legendary

Old school football's best quarterback: Johnny Unitas
Called all of his own plays, got the job done, played through injuries that would have made other guys retire
Best modern-era quarterback: Joe Montana
One word: clutch! No one came up bigger than Joe in big games.

What are the odds of Northwestern, known more for scholars than athletes, producing a quarterback who would compete in a championship game every season as a professional? What are the odds of that player winning seven of those 10 title games?

John Elway. He lead 5 teams to the Super Bowl. The 1st 3 were without any stars besides him. He had a strong arm, great accuracy & can scramble with the best of them. Most complete QB ever.

I'd like to say Ol' High Tops (showing my age here) or perhaps Y.A., but I think he may be in Indy right now. I'm a little biased, since his daddy played for Drew High School and beat my school back in the 60's. What physical skills Manning lacks he more than makes up for in his understanding of the game and his study of game films.
