Why would it not be legal? We eat cows and chickens and pigs, there really is no difference.

I don't think it's ever been addressed as a law or not, but why would you want to eat a cat or a dog in the first place. Those are pets that people love and care for like a child. Do you think it's legal to eat your first born child....

It would be not legal because these are considered widely as domesticated pets. People view pets as members of the family, and you wouldn't eat a family member would you?

I heard that dog meat if good tasting.I hate cats and would never eat one unless i was on the brink of starving to death.

However, its a catch 22.
Its illegal to kill a dog or cat (in some states) for food consumption, and illegal to sell dog or cat meat commercially in all states.
