I am sure that this is not a complete list, but the two African countries Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) and Zambia come to mind. There is also the birthplace of Russian former World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov of Zlatyust.

Uhm, Zaire does not exist anymore. It is called Democratic Republic of Congo now. And it has been so for quite bit. Don't you read newspapers? And Zanzibar is part of Tanzania.
