I am a private English teacher. I teach English as a foreign language to high school students in Egypt. Sometimes I find many grammatical and linguistic mistakes made by the teachers of my students at their schools. What should I do in that situation? To be 100% honest and tell them that their teachers are mistaken even though that would make the students never trust their teachers any more or not to tell the truth in order to protect their teachers' fame? Please tell me the right thing to do.

Do not purposesly point them out but if a student asks tell them that technically the correct usage is ..... Students will not lose trust in a teacher if they make a mistake (Especially in grammar in a foreign tongue) , they lose trust if the teacher lies to them. They all know how hard it is to learn the language, it will make their teachers more human to know they struggle with it too.

If your job is to educate your students to speak and write correct English, it behooves you to correct any and all errors committed by oher teachers, regardless of whether or not it offends them.

Perhaps you might consider approaching those teachers and offer to instruct them in the use of correct english.

I would certainly not stand idly by and allow the current situation to continue!
