Why do some people not like who they are?

maybe because they keep comparing themselves to other people and realise that they are lacking in certain aspects of their lives, cannot measure up to society's standards

Because their true inner self, the thing inside us all that knows the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, is displeased with something they are doing.

That doesn't mean they are doing something bad or wrong, it may be that they are allowing themselves to be victims, suffering injustice and doing nothing about it, or maybe they are self centered cruel bastards, either way, the true inner self will not be pleased.

To like who you are, you must be at peace with your true inner self, there is no fooling it, it knows when you are naughty or nice, no matter what you might tell yourself.
