"One mans garbage is another man's treasure" - What may not be worth to you could be worth something to someone else.

"Treasures of the mind can be gold in ones pocket" - Basically knowledge can be the road to riches

"Treasure the moment for it is a glimpse into the soul" - Moments can define you as a person and who you may become.

"Embrace the future because it is a treasure trove of what may become your past" - The choices you make in the future will become etched in the stone of your past.

These are just a few I thought of. Hopefully one of them will prove useful to you.

Enjoy!

One such metaphor would be.............
'our maid is an absolute treasure.'
Or 'my daughter is a little diamond'.......................
or 'India was known as the British Empire's jewel in the crown.'

Get the idea? One other thing....As soon as you use the world 'like' as in 'her green eyes looked like emeralds' it becomes a simile so avoid doing that.
