I am strongly opposed to abortion. However, I do understand some of the circumstances nowadays like rape, incest, etc. First of all, these days you have all these little girls who go out have a good ol time and then wind up pregnant. When they find out, they want an abortion. To me, if you can lay there and do the dirty work then you have every right in the world to suffer the consequences. A child is a child at conception! It is a living human being. This is even for adults. For those who just want sex and then wind up pregnant and want an abortion because the party is over. Sex was made yes I know for pleasure but mainly for the creation of children between a married man and woman. If it had something to do with rape or incest then I might would consider it being okay. I would not be happy for it, but it would make it to where this child didn't have to live life in hell. But as far as just wanting to have sex for fun and then aborting the child because the fun is over, is just wrong!

It's hypocritical to make exceptions. I understand but I don't think it's right. You complain about anything. Young pregnancy and now, abortion. What is your solution? What are you doing? Writing rants on Y!A is not helping these young woman or the pro-life cause. It's just ranting. You complain about how disgusting it is to see a fourteen year old girl pregnant--yet you want her to keep the child and look disgusting?
How would they implement a "rape/incest only" abortion law? There is no way. Some people who have been raped have no signs and put up no struggle. For some people their own husbands rape them. Would it be an honor system? Could people just trust others to tell the truth? I'm sorry with an "rape/insect only" law there would still be people who would either lie about being raped OR were raped and could not get an abortion.
I know abortion is not a black and white issue. I know it’s hard to be educated and decide how you feel. I’m very educated about abortion. I am pro-choice. I am not “for” abortion. I do not like abortion (even in cases of rape) and think it’s morally wrong.
I am a realist. I know that there are no set facts as to when life begins. There is no proven scientific answer as to when life begins. This country relies too much on fact. How can we make a law when no facts are known? Do we base a law on hypothesizes, beliefs, theories, and morals? No, because not everyone has the same beliefs, theories, and morals.
Again back to the question of what are you doing? It’s so important as a pro-choice or pro-life person to donate to your cause--whether it be your time or your money. It’s important to be active. After all, complaining (which is an epidemic in the US) does not do anything. I’ll give you a head start , go to these website if you feel ever so passionate about the pro-life cause to add to the thousand of abortion questions.

I think most people would agree with that, whether they support abortion or not. Recklessly getting pregnant and aborting is neither safe or respectable.
But it's a harsh generalization by you to assume that most of the situations are similar to this. That only makes up a small percentage of abortions.
Many girls/women who get an abortion go through a very difficult time. It is never an easy situation. It isn't socially accpeted, so they are reluctant as to who they can tell, usually they have to pretend everything is normal, all the while, they suffered a secret loss of a child.
So, no, I do not agree that having sex for fun and aborting frequently is a good idea, but I do believe that each situation is very, very personal, and every situation is unique to each woman and her previous and future experiences

I agree with you for the most part but you have to get your own opinin straight. IF the child has the right to live prior to being born, then ANY child has that right, even those as the product of a rape (you can give him up for adoption once born) but you can't say it is OK to "kill" if that's how you see it, in one situation and not another.
Second, I hope when you say "suffer the consequences" you are referring to pregnancy, not the child.
Finally, to answer what of a question you have here, though it is mostly preaching, as the other answerer said, the reason people do it is selfishness. They want sex and those who must suffer the consequences be damned. We are a society of self-indulgent people who want instant gratification no matter the cost. We all live that way but to different degrees. It is unfortuante and sad, I agree.

If you are strongly against abortion then how can you say that abortion is okay if you have been raped or molested? You can't have it both ways.
I am for abortion. Let me ask you this: If your life were in danger and the doctor told you that if you did not have an abortion then you would die? Would you go ahead and die and leave your kids/family behide.?
I know i would not.
Why is it if it were a baby then why do they call it a fetus while you are pregnant?
It is just that a fetus and a fetus is not a baby until it is born, when it is breathing on it's own.
Abortion is just a medical procedure.
What about all the american soldiers over in iraq killing innocent people including children and babies? Is that murder? Or do you think that is okay?

first ur entitled to ur opinion
second abortion is an age old practice before a doctor did it women would do it at home by themselves using herbs.
maybe you should try and educate people more on the importance of contraception than on the pros and cons of abortion
prevention is better than cure.
i have lst several babies through misscariage. im pregnant again with a healthy baby. if my circumstances were different i would consider it as a possable option.
2 yrs ago i considered abortion (went to clinic for exam etc) as my partner had left me alone and i didnt have my family around. (living in a new city) i lost the baby.
abortion is a choice. you choose to have one or you stay away.
im so glad i live in a place where i have many options.

Good point. Now just try to get the rest of the world talking like that. Where are the women's rights? Its her body. I don't like that kids aren't being given the chance to live and grow, but the gov't shouldn't be all up in social areas. We can't let the government have so much control over our lives. Gay marriage can stay. I don't care about it. Them getting married doesn't bother me at all. They talk about freedom of religon, but they base homosexuality on against christian belief. They are being hypocritical. Especially some rich spoiled teen female, who goes out and has a bunch of sex. When she get pregnant she just shrugs it off, gets an abortion and has more sex. But just don't get an abortion. In one place, where they got rid of abortion. Some girl did it her self, and died. She didn't want the child and couldn't take care of the child so she had an illegal abortion and died.

I am pro-choice but anyone that says they are against it except for if a person is raped, incest, birth defects, etc. are all hypocrites. It is still the same innocent baby that you called it. What the baby is no longer innocent and does not deserve to live it is a product of rape or incest? That is a hypocritical statement if I ever heard one.

Why are you so sure that human life begins at conception? Because somebody told you so? Well, other people believe that human life begins at birth, and others believe it begins somewhere in between--and their reasons for believing that are just as valid and logical as yours. It's not a black and white issue.
And you have to consider the effects of poverty--for a poor woman, sex is often not just a voluntary "party" and taking contraceptive measures is difficult or impossible, but having a child would devastate her ability to care for herself and her other children.

I totally agree with everything you are saying. Sex is now losing its original purpose and is used too much for pleasure. It is suppose to be a serious thing and special but not anymore when people do it with just about anyone...even if they have no feeling for that person. Even if the child was not born yet, it still is a child and had every right to live. But it lost its life due to somebody else's mistake, is that fair? People need to take responsibility.

Embryos are not children. Until the early 19th century even the Catholic Church didn't believe they were children (they belived life began when you first felt the child move at about 16 and half weeks). Embryos are balls of cells which, in a surprisingly small number of cases will EVENTUALLY after much differentiation form a child (over 50% of pregnancies end before a person even knows they're pregnant).
