He is trying to save the environment, and again it is the least well off who will suffer. If saving the environment is to be justified then all M.Ps should travel in a shuttle bus leaving at set times similer to community busses to and from Parliament
.As so many of them travel abroad on fact finding missions, there should be a parliamentary plane for M.Ps only, no wives or hangers on allowed and the plane may only visit a country once in a year ie it would not fly to america 2 or 3 times. all M.Ps must publicly justify the reason for travel. I don't see any solar panels in any Downing St. houses but maybe there are do you know? Where is the evidence that this money is going into the system?
Saving the planet my A*** they need the money for the war.

Saving the planet ? cobblers. It's all another stealth tax. More millions into Labours coffers for them to waste. Brown could force every car off our roads and every plane out of our skies but in 2 years the good would be wiped out by the polution kicked out by countries like USA and China. At the end of the day Brown can tax, tax, tax, "to save the planet" but we won't be here in 1000 years to realise that he was talking twaddle., and he knows it !

Successive Governments have had 30 years to save the planet. That's how long the hole in the ozone layer has been known about. What I wonder is, why can't we replenish the ozone layer with electricity. There are so many lightning storms nowadays which produce ozone so the planet should be okay to my mind. I just cannot believe the information I am being given when the problem has been ongoing for years. I just believe it's a way of getting more money out of the public. After all, the Labour Party is £30million in debt so it's gotta come from somewhere.

I am becoming increasingly more convinced that environmental problems are being over-hyped by governments simply as a way of screwing more money out of the tax payer. The public transport where I live is little better than non-existent, I have to have a car whatever the level of tax

It's time the British people understood that under the New Labour veneer Brown is an old dyed in the wool left wing socialist who has taxed us in every way he and his cronies can think of. All this 'green tax' stuff is just another tax racket. Do he or his cronies ever try to cut down on their expenses? I think not

Lest we not forget the 66% payrise the MP's have requested, as stated in the Metro paper today

We've had to fight fight fight for our 2% government payrise this year. sickening.

they should HAVE to drive electric cars etc. how is a small country like ours going to save the planet ? we don't own rainforests or have as bigger cities as some countries.
