It's funny how the Christians who demand that everyone else lighten up and not get offended over their preferred holiday greeting are always the ones who are the MOST uptight about the whole issue and the ONLY ones who get offended over such a silly non-issue.
And for the record, Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings have been around as long and in some places longer than Merry Xmas and have always been as acceptable. It is only since a small group of Christians and Conservatives have started to resent the realization that the world does not revolve around their beliefs that it has suddenly become a big deal.

Absolutely.
What amazes me is that Christmas is a Christian religious holiday and those who are offended by being told "Merry Christmas" are perfectly happy to participate in the paid holiday from work. They're not offended by the couple of days of free pay and time off now are they.
I think this whole thing of the few ruling the majority is ridiculous. This nation was set up on majority rule and even though the Christians are in majority in this country, the courts continually rule in favor of individuals and small groups.
It ridiculous to the extent that the Pledge of Allegiance isn't said in school anymore.
What's up with this country?
One atheist, about 30 years ago, started this whole ongoing mess whereby the minority rules the majority and it is simply wrong.
JMHO!!! Sorry, you touched a nerve....

People are too sensitive, they get offended at the drop of a hat. If I offend someone by saying 2 words, Merry Christmas...then maybe they need to go to the doctor about the stick up their butt. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Instead of Happy Holidays why don't we mandate the entire country to wear badges of their religious preference. Then you could address them as needed. Happy Hanukkah, Have a good Winter Solstice!
Why does everyone need to conform to Christianity? The other religions were here BEFORE yours was!
If we went back to saying it the "OLD" way we would be celebrating the Roman God Saturn, or the pagan Winter Solstice, NOT the birth of christ. Christ wasn't even BORN on christmas!!

You are so correct that it just makes me want to spray paint "Merry Christmas" on all of the cars in the parking lot outside.......
I am sick of people being so bizarre. CHRISTmas is a NATIONAL holiday and the official name of this time is the "CHRISTMAS" season.
People try to be all things to all people and it really waters down true sincerity - people can still have a Merry Christmas while drinking snake blood and playing with Ouija boards......it's just a little darker of a Christmas than we would have expected them to have.............

I use a mix of greetings...just to mix it up.
I don't do it to not offend...I just see so many people when they pass into my business that I like to have a change.
Also this year I have yet to have someone get huffy about it...I think people are finally coming around on all this PC nonsense.
Merry X-Mas!

I prefer to say Merry Christmas and will. If I offend someone so what! This wasn't a problem till a few complained. It is always a few that ruin it for the majority.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. perhaps if enough people start going back to the old fashioned way of doing things we can stop worrying about offending someone and " let the chips fall where they may. "
