1) Start NOW - Don't put off trying to overcome it.
2) Make a list of all of the benefits to acting NOW on issues
3) Make a list of all of the negatives associated with waiting until the last minute.
4) Plan your life to some extent. Procrastinators typically fly by the "seat of their pants", which is not always bad. Realize that procrastination can at times be a good motivator, but try to analyze where it may be hurting your life and limiting your potential in life.
5) Set goals and "early warnings" for each goal so that if you must procrastinate, you at least are procrastinating with some time to spare. This helps a lot of folks deal with procrastination since many have deadlines jump up on them not so much due to the fact that they "forgot" the date, but that they underestimated the complexity of what they have to deliver.
6) Get someone to make you accountable for your larger life goals and make sure they hold you to them.
7) Enjoy life and realize that being a procrastinator is very often an indication that you are gifted and good at multi-tasking - something very necessary in today's high-speed environment.
8) Start NOW, but go slow and don't try to expect change overnight.
I wish you the best! Nate

Asssuming you know it's something you have to do at some point, just tell yourself that it's better to get it done now rather than later for the following reasons:
1. If there are any unexpected problems, you'll have the extra time to resolve it.
2. You'll have the extra time to do the project really well if you find that becomes important.
3. By getting it done early, you'll avoid the worry and panic that will follow as you get closer to the deadline.
4. You'll earn a reputation as someone who can be depended on to get stuff done on time.
5. There is a satisfaction level that comes with accomplishing a project that is done well and is on time.

Reward yourself: decide on a little reward you can enjoy only after the task is done.
Try to think of ways to make it more fun: listen to some music while you're doing it, I find it easier to type reports if I chew on some Twizzlers while I'm working.
Remember that it's the starting the task that's the tough part, once you get going it's not so bad.
Make a competition out of it: how fast can you type one page? can you fold 10 shirts in 2 minutes, etc.
