I'm one of your "colonial brothers", and I think it's stupid to call it 'the festive season' or similar stuff. Call it what it is! I know of at least one store over here that finally went back to saying "merry christmas". If people are worried about offending others, then they could also wish people "happy hanukkah" signs. I, as a christian, would not be the least bit offended. But, as all the retail stores must know, the majority of their shoppers are there for christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!
and another thing? ever wonder why all the radio stations can play christmas music, but all the dj's still say happy holidays?

Well I have just given everyone with a good answer an early CHRISTMAS PRESENT of one point.
I live in England which as the song goes " The Holy Lamb of God in England's Pleasant Pastures Seen" and goes on "Nor Shall My Sward Sleep in My Hand, Until Jerusalem's Build-ed Here, In Englands Green and Pleasant Land"
Says it all I think!
If they can not respect us and our culture, why do they expect us to respect theirs? It is our country after all!
( When I refer to OUR COUNTRY, I refer to all people who can trace their ROOTS back to the time of the Dooms Day Book in good old England and are still living here!)
This IS a Christian Nation, Christianity is the Lode Stone and Key to our culture. If we loose our Identity due to Political Correctness, who will care! If we don't care enough ourselves to say NO. We won't except this change. No we do not accept your Rules, No we do not accept your opinion as valid.
The Government and Local Authorities can not afford 'Bad Karma' or resistance from the 'MAJORITY GROUP' of the general public. The answer is to VOTE them OUT, before we become the 'MINORITY GROUP'?
So Happy Christmas to everyone. That includes everyone of all other religions who my read this. Remember its not personal, its conviction to our faith. You all understand that sentiment don't you!
PS I think that we should ALL celebrate together every last one of the religious festivals of this season, what a party that would be!
Does any one know all of the dates, starting at the earlist one and on into the New Year? (Isn't the Jewish one on the 6th Jan?)

This is a Christian country with the Queen as Head of State and Head of the Church of England. Most people in this country have allegiance to this country in one form or another so insulting Christmas means you insult everyone from the Queen down to the newest born child. That is religious discrimination among other things and we should put a stop to this PC CR*P which is creeping into every aspect of our lives.
CHRIST is the reason for CHRISTmas and if it was not for him there would not be a greedy time for all the secular money grabbing b*****s out there who want to destroy the very thing that gives them their money, position and power.

Chrismas is Christmas and that's that. It's just that some of the hypersensitive little flowers of the world have managed to land themselves jobs as thought police and incase any offence is called seem to want to ban everything to do with Christianity. As I have received Chrismas presents off Jew, Muslims, Sikhs & Hindus in my life and have yet to find anyone of another religion who is offended I think the hypersensitives are simply looking for trouble where none exists (and by doing so cause so much bad feeling). So I plan to get on with Christmas the same as ever.

You are joking aren't you?! I no longer live in the UK, and this is the first I've heard about 'Christmas' being abolished. I'm far from being racist, but I do believe in the saying, 'when in Rome, do as the Romans do'. (Or just shut up). Surely when we Brits go to live in a foreign country, we respect and accept that country's culture and beliefs and learn to live alongside them, even if we don't agree with them - it's only good manners. Have a Happy Christmas!

The radical left is doing its best to persecute the Christians. It's not anything new to us. We've faced persecution from the beginning and always will until Christ returns. Christmas is the celebration of our Lord's birthday and so shall it ever be! Merry Christmas everyone!!

It's CHRISTMAS! It always has been CHRISTMAS! It always will be CHRISTMAS! Let the colonial brothers take their 'festive season' to Cuba or some other godless country.

Who says so? Show me the declaration that says you are not able to call it Christmas? I'm sure any law passed that stated that would have made the news, don't you?

I know! I dont get Chicago. They banned the new movie the Nativity for their Christmas celebration. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus Christ's birthday. If people dont want to attend certain parts of the celebrations, that is okay, dont go. People are ignorant. CHRISTmas!!
