Formal wear is usually a tux for men or gown for women.
Semi Formal is shirt/tie, slacks, and dress shoes or any regular suit. I'm not a woman so I couldn't tell you what that means for them. I would imagine it would be a cocktail dress or some nice dress suit or regular suit. As always, don't forget the pumps, boots, and shoes (all with heels) and the appropriate hosiery.
professional is the same a semi-formal, but think office attire. a nice black/blue/gray/tan suit(not always a suit), pinstripes or not, usually a shirt and tie, slacks and dress shoes. Very nice sweaters with shirts and ties also can be worn with the slacks. I think women should wear business suits(skirt or slacks), a nice dress, nice slacks, and blouses. Again don't forget the appropriate hosiery, shoes/boots/pumps and accessories.
business casual would be khaki's, dress slacks, nice pull over shirts or button down shirts, nice sweaters, loafers, dress shoes, ties if you would like to wear a collar shirt or any of the above in any combination you can possibly imagine. The same goes for a woman as for a man, except nice skirts and dresses paired with any of the above aforementioned apparel. Again with the shoes/boots/heels, and the appropriate hosiery and accessories.
Casual is anything that I have mentioned from business casual to jeans, sneakers, sandals, sweats, t-shirts, etc... (almost anything goes)For women casual is the same thing, including mini skirts, and anything they want to put together.
