Pickup any Teach Yourself Java in 21 Days book. That will give you the basics. Then take a C++ program you wrote and rewrite it in Java. Download Eclipse it's the freeware version of Microsoft Java. Just as good without the price :) Then camp out at sun.com and read up on the objects that are available (no need to reinvent the wheel).

I would first recommend getting a starter book a learn some of the basics. Research each of the programming languages an see which one catches your eye and seems to be the one the excites you most. I would then most definitely recommend a instructor led class. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions and also hear questions others may have and their insite. This way if you don't understand something there is someone who can assist you. Good luck.

incredibly relies upon on your organic ability to charm to close OOP ideas and the Java language. i might desire to furnish a Java self learn e book to my mom to study for 4 hours in line with day and that i doubt she'd ever %. up the language. i might desire to furnish my 12 365 days previous daughter the comparable e book and she or he might %. it up in some weeks. Do you have previous programming experience? in case you do, transitioning to a clean language is generally much less confusing. Having "authentic initiatives" to artwork on additionally help because of the fact which you're pushed to prevail as area of your artwork requirement. wager unquestionably i'm attempting to assert is that there is not a single time-physique for someone to earnings a programming language. If I had to place a time selection to be an intermediate developer, i could say one million-4 months consumer-friendly ability progression, then 6 months to 2 years to grow to be an intermediate developer (relies upon how huge of an intermediate ability set you prefer to artwork on).
