whats the difference between dualband and triband on a mobile phone?

ok if you useing the phone in the US ,,,, then you need phone that works on either 850/1900 networks...

dual means phone works on 2 bands , tri means works on 3 bands. and quad means all bands

all GSM bands in the world are 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

900/1800 are international bands

It's like being bilingual vs trilingual. The phone can communicate on three different frequencies (900/1800/1900 Mhz) instead of two.

Mobile networks sometime operate on different frequencies, so depending on which network you wish to use the phone on you will need to use that "band"

it's only if you want to change to a different network would the bands that the phone can use be usefull (as you might not be able to change to the network you want)

I believe what you are talking about is storage space, correct? It could also be the RAM in your phone the more RAM the faster your phone is. MB = Megabyte GB = Gigabyte. There are 1024 MBs in 1 GB. The more you have the better. :)

Dual band phones have less chance of finding service, tri-band phones have better signal capabilities but might not be able to switch to other providers. Most tri-mode phones also work with older analog service, where digital isn't available.
