No. Rocks do not have to maintain homeostasis. This is one of the main items on the checklist for things to see whether or not they live. Homeostasis is the items ability to maintain things like an average body temperature. Also, they do not eat. All living things eat in some way or another. There are other things that determine whether something is alive or not. Try reading a general biology book.

No... they do not breathe... but they do have energy. In my culture we call them Grandfathers and Grandmothers... I guess it all depends on your perspective and belief system.
