No i'm not suicidal..im taking english comp 101. I have to write an essay on a debateable issue..I chose suicide because a family member of mine did commit suicide..and no one knows why. I am against it because i go to church..and i belive it is wrong

well not only is it wrong it is selfish.
Think of how many people will hurt forever when this person is gone.
Many people get so far into dreaming about how they will do it
it literally becomes a fantasy.
Its hard to stop them at that point.
some people are so convinced of this fantasy it becomes dreamy-romantic and they often try a suicide pact. too much to tell on a short note to you ,
you need to do more research may I recommend you start with interviewing your councilor at school.She can be a lot of help to you for whatever reason you need to write this.Even if you are just a curious person and dont need to write an essay. I think that it is wrong and everyone should know that, just like abortion is murdering babies, this is killing someone's life, something we are expressly told not to do in the commandment "Thou shalt not kill". That's the #1 reason I think it's wrong.
Some think it is right because the person committing it is in dreadful pain and wants to just get out of the pain. They don't see that however you put it, suicide is a form of murder.

Who is the NOBEL prize who asked you to write such an essay? Aren't there any other more interesting subjects to write on? Or are you doing it as part of your job? Perhaps I misunderstood your question then.

it depends on how u deal with it .if it is written in a positive way which can help people understand how suicidal people think n how they should be dealt then there is nothing wrong with it.
