I asked one time if there is a chance we might be more than friends and all she could say was she don't know what the future holds. What does that mean?

That could mean anything but if I were you I would consider that a possibility. If she is interested in you and you in her you should go out on dates, do those things that mutually interest you and have a good time. If it's meant to be it will happen, if not you have a friendship that will last a lifetime.

It means your chances are greater than they were when you first met her.While you're waiting,let things run their course,send her greeting cards,remember her birthday,buy her a Christmas present,find out from her girlfriends or Mom or Dad what her favorite colors are,things like that.With all this though,set a deadline in your head as to when you want this to happen by.Unless you don't mind waiting ten years while there's other fish in the sea.Good luck to you.

well it could me that she is not interested or it could mean that she is waiting for you to upfront about your feelings because a lot of guys will ask a female friend that question just to see if she likes them and have no real interest in her just want an ego boost from her saying yes. so honestly it could go either way.

You should tell her how you feel, but make sure she knows that even if she doesn't feel the same way, you still want to be friends. Don't make it too awkward and romantic at first either... take it slow

on one hand, she could be telling you she may be interested.
on the other, she may not want to hurt your feelings because she may not be.
if you really need to know, i would just ask her how she feels.
its only fair, because if she isnt in the place you are, your best bet is to move on
