Aww! That's so sweet. Your first one, right? Everyone is always very very careful with their first, even to the point that it looks a little silly to everyone else. I know for sure it'll be fine to leave your baby in her crib while you're showering. My mom had 7 kids, and we all slept in cribs while she showered or did whatever. If you're really worried, just make sure the crib's cage/gate thingies are raised so that she can't roll out. And you could put one of those soft bumper things around the inside too.

Once my son got to a certain age, I did start showering while he was in the crib- we have a baby monitor that I don't have to plug in-it runs on batteries, so I use that to make sure everything is fine. I don't take that long of showers too, so that always helped if he started to cry. Only do this if you feel comfortable doing it. They are very safe in the crib with the side up. Our doctor told us- because our baby was super colicky, that if we need a time out to ourselves, we can put the baby in his crib pull the side up, and shut the door, and go to another room for 10 minutes to cool down... I never had to do this, but they said it was the safest place for the baby during that time you need to take a small break. Now that our son is 14 months old, he sleeps a little better during his naps, so it's easier to take showers when he's asleep.
Goodluck :) Try to enjoy your shower time :)

Yes! But putting her in the bouncy seat is okay as well :) If you're really worried about taking a shower while she is in her crib bring the baby monitor into the bathroom, it works wonders!

I did the same thing with my son when he was that age. I just wanted him to know that I was there. So I would place him in his baby swing in front of the bathroom door, made sure that he was strapped in and then took my shower. When he slept through the night I would take a shower while he was in his crib. During that time I kept the baby monitor around.

I use the bouncy chair in the bath room. I would think that if it was a problem you could leave the baby sleeping in a crib at that age. I don't want my baby girl to wake-up and feel alone, so I keep her in the room with me. She is 7m. and I now use her playsaucer in the bathroom. She is content in it long enough for me to get a shower and get dressed.

my daughter has been left in the crib while i take a shower since she was about 2 months old, if the crib is safe enough for baby to sleep in all night then she will be fine for the 10 minutes you need to take a shower.

Its perfectly fine to leave them in their crib. My son went into his crib within a week of coming home from the hospital. At 2-1/2 weeks he was sleeping through the night. You can put mobiles and toys in there for baby to play with.

I was the exact same way at first with my son. When my mom found out what I was doing she said "do you sleep when the baby sleeps?" I said "yeah" and she said "then why can't you take a shower when the baby sleeps?" Good point. Just take the baby monitor in the bathroom. Thats what I do. I get things ready before I put him to sleep and then jump in the shower as soon as he's out.

I have done the same thing as you with both my babies. I just brought them in the bathroom with me. I have never left my kids out in the house while I take a shower. Not because I think it's wrong, it just makes me uncomfortable. You have to do whatever makes you feel the best. If leaving your baby in her crib is going to fill your shower time with anxiety bring her in the bathroom. As moms we have to do whatever we feel is best and forget about everyone else

I leave my daughter in the swing..with the straps on of course and she is 5 months...When they are sleeping they are content and many aren't grouchy right after they get up anyways unless they need to eat. The crib is the safest place for a baby that age to be and yes take a shower...You will hear when your baby needs you..dont worry :)
