I currently have a job where I have a lot of responsibilities but the pay is low and there are no benefits. I have recently been offered a better paying job with benefits, but I will not have as much responsibility. This seems like a no brainer, but I am still very young, and wondering whether the experience I will gain at my current job will be worth the wait later in life.

It does seem like a no brainer. You are being offered a job that will provide you with benefits as well as a salary increase. So I would say take the job. If you stay with it for a while and like it and they like your progress I am sure that there is room for advancement that would provide you with additional responsibilties that you are looking for. I have been looking for work for three months so when something positive comes your way take it. I wish you luck with whatever decision you make.

I say take the job with the benefits and better pay. WIth whatever job you have now, atleast you have some experience in it. I think the worst thing you could do is to stay in a spot where they're working you like a slave, and paying you chump change.....go after the job that's going to pay you what you deserve!

Take it: If you take the new job, try to make sure you talk to them regarding career advancement. Talk to them your you have actually more experience and responsibility at the present job hence you are fit candidate for higher responsibilities, if now immediately but sometime soon.

Dont take it: make sure you will have a raise soon. And you actually love the job (hopefully for a few more months after all this knowledge of your capability of getting a better salary)

Is there a way to move up with your current situation...or with the new opportunity. If so...where do you see yourself? Then, put yourself in that picture.

Good luck.
