You met this really great person online, and they were like, so your opposite, they love what you love, they're nice, etc., and you set up a blind date with them-but have no idea they are of the same sex as you, until you get on your date and like, girls, you sat up a date with a girl or guys you set up a date with a guy. Like, a real date? I would probably be embarassed, but then keep it-as FRIENDS and then I'd have a new friend, so it wouldn't be a total loss. You?

i would be so embarrassed... and tell them about the misunderstanding so that you wouldnt have to deel with any uncomfortableness and then be just good friends

Sounds like a good friend! If it's same sex or not, if you get along with them, keep them as a friend. :) :) I think that would be great to have a friend who you hit it off with so good, and if you are into same sex relations.. then even better.

Well, before you and the person decided to meet, I would have done an A/S/L on them. If they lied about that, then that's a different story.
