Make sure they dont rub on the moving parts or the exhaust. Leave them long enough to fasten them to your fender well . If you make them short and dont secure them to the inner fender , the vibration transfered from the motor can fatigue or crack the heater core fittings. Yes , I learned this the hard way , replacing a heater core is no fun.

the usual way to route them is on the passenger side of the truck. start where the hose comes out of the firewall and run along the inner fender till its even with the front of the block then bring them over to where they will connect to there places on the block. one hose is a 5/8 inch and the other i a 3/4 inch hose. you will need 2 hose clamps for bothe ends of each hose. on a 72 one line should go to a fitting on the water pump and the other will be on the intake by the thermostat housing.

self explanatory, theres only two one is 5/8" and the other is 3/4"

the 3/4" one runs from the waterpump

and the 5/8" one runs from the intake manifold

the 3/4" one sometimes comes from the radiator on HD cooling trucks, instead of the water pump

these trucks are simple you cant get it wrong
good luck

Route it wherever you wish, just remember to avoid heat sources. Zip ties or electrical tape can come in handy to hold the hose wherever you desire.
