My parents laid the ground work, like manners and all that. Growing up I was a very shy person, but not wanting to be like everyone else I made it a point to march to the beat of my own drum. So I guess you can say that I am now a leader and I have strong moral values. My parents taught me that it is important to be a lady, which I agree with to a point. I maybe a lady in public, but very naughty in the bed.

How do I show this in my life... well I want what I want when I want it, but not at the expense of others.

Not my folks I am totally opposite them,
upbringing not really my brother and I have totally different outlooks on life,
my mistakes are few; I am going to have to say my convictions and the importance of my faith( which is my way of life).. I don't like hearing dirty jokes or bad words and nowadays that is real challenge just about every movie, tv show and work place has the potty mouths.
I flat tell people I don't appreciate it they either don't bother me anymore or oust me from their circle. Its not awful living this way, its a quiet way of life and its certainly better than the alternatives.

I know from knowing my parents that my Character came from them and my upbringing. My personality came from both my parents, they both had/have great senses of humor, witty. I think a few things came from my life's experience, trial and error, learning from past mistakes I have made. Religion was never a part of our family, however when my sister and I were younger we went to Sunday School with the neighbors. Organized religion is not for me, I do believe in God and have a good understanding of what he expects from us. I went to a Catholic girls high school and learned to appreciate Theological type literature that I still read today (when I have time) I learned so much from the Nuns. I choose not to become Catholic. I think I am a very fair, honest, compassionate, moralistic, intelligent person. I believe in myself, I am my biggest fan- I know what is in my heart and head, so that allows me to be my biggest fan.

It's a combination of everything in your life.

The only way to have a strong moral character is to truly believe in your convictions. I make my life decisions using 90% logic and 10% emotion. It really makes it easy to stay on the right path. It's easy to do what's emotionally satisfying. It's often difficult to do what is logical.

For example, it feels good to give your kid everything he wants. It makes them happy, and they "love" you for it. However, if you never teach your child that they must earn things in this life, they grow up to be spoiled brat adults that contribute nothing to society.

It started with my mother laying the foundation and it culminated from my experiences, my flaws, and my mistakes. My strong foundation allowed me to filter out the bad moral decisions and build a conscience that has taken over my thought process. My conscience will not allow me to be immoral in anyway.
