In my opinion, there isn't much that is similar between the two wars. Therefore, I can come up with a long list of things tha are different. What tops this list is as follows:
The NVA and Viet Cong were interested in reuniting their country, and would not bring their fight to American soil. The insurgents in Iraq are probably not from Iraq, don't care about uniting Iraq and would bring their fight to American soil if given the chance to do so. Long story short, the enemy in these wars are much different and are driven by much different objectives.

The fact that Vietnam was already a divided country and Iraq is trying to divide itself now. Other than that, the wars are very similar.

not sure why vietnam occured
but i do think good came out of it
although lots of people died
iraq was about Saddam and weapons of mass distraction
one is gone and the other never really existed
