I agree with you, however the chances of other life forms visiting our planet are extremely small. Why should it be assumed that another sentient creature is far more advanced than we are? Perhaps we are the most advanced beings.
As far as sightings of "flying saucers" are concerned, do a little research. Not only did the Nazi's build saucer craft, they were successfully flown, in formation, some were armed with Panzer cannons. Thus the original wave of "flying saucers" in the Forties.
For starters, see the book, "Hitler's Flying Saucers" by Henry Stevens, or perhaps "Die Dunkle Des Mondes", by Brad Harris

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

If you have 100 billion of planets in the galaxy and you multiply that by a factor of .001% to have other living organism and have that product mutiplied again by another factor of .001% then you have your atleast 10 inteligent alien lifeforms

you really do not belive that the species of man evolved on this planet without help from the stars now, do you?

We are rather unique in being carbon based, wait till you meet a silicon based creature, or something from oneof the gas giants that lives in methane.

I do, of course, how could you not. We shouldn't think so high of ourselves. There are BILLIONS of galaxies, how could just this one have life? I think that God created this universe and it would be limiting Him immensely to think that Humans, as wretched as we can be at times, are the only beings to receive the gift of life.
