i want to learn to play guitar. i am left handed, and i am getting a left handed guitar.
all the learning books i have seen..shows playing right handed, and shows the frets and fingering as a mirror image and is a little confusing to me.
is there a source somewhere, that has ,a, learning guitar, with honest to goodness left hand instruction, and diagrams?
maybe i`m not making any sense?
i really want to learn how to play one.
i have a good ear, and can play a harmonica pretty good.
thanks
tom

For my neice (also a lefty) I set the books up on a music stand in front of a mirror. It worked for her.

A good question. I've not seen instructional booklets for lefties, but I'm sure they're available.

Meanwhile, to improve your memory of learning the chords draw them down from your booklet and form your own manual for playing. Yet the chord diagrams should remain the same regardless the style of playing. A left-handed guitar is strung the same, except the nut and the bridge are reversed and the pick guard is placed differently.

But creating your own manual through the years for playing will be advantageous for you. I did it 50 years ago and still refer to those chord diagrams and notes I had made.
