You don't have to devote all your time to helping homless, helping just one makes you that much more of a better person. Family is also important and you shouldn't take for granted that they are always there and don't have to have you around all the time. It is great to want to help others out and you should. When you've been blessed with a healthy life, with a home and family then it's only right to give back to others who are unfortunate. But you don't want to give all your time to it and not spend some with your family. Im sure they will be fine with you spending part of your time helping out and still being there for them. You are a saint and the world needs more people like you around. Best holiday wishes to you and your family!

Well, I think it's a difficult question. I think if helping the homeless is just as important to you as spending time with your family, then help the homeless some other day during the year. It doesn't have to be on Christmas day. Spend Christmas with your family, you never know when someone close to you will be gone...

You should do a "one for you, one for me" kind of thing and alternate the years. In other words, help the homeless every second year and spend the rest of the time with your family. You'll never get those years back again and Christmas is a special time for family.

That's a tough one if you've helped for the last few years. Maybe take a year off and spend it with family, they're important too.
Next year either see if you can get your family involved with you helping the homeless or to celebrate Christmas eve so you can be there.

Helping the homeless is a very good idea, but maybe you could spend time with your family since you've missed a few. Have you thought about doing both?

That a personal question.
Just ask yourself these:
Do your family would be OK if you aren't there, again?
Does it makes a difference for the homeless to have you there?
Where do you feel the best: at your family or at the homeless? With two out of three you will get your answer.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Ask yourselve , am I happier helping out the homeless or am I happeier with my family. I know that may sound strange, but you need to be where you are happy. I have tried for the last severals years to be with my children and my ex and my sister who he left me for. I have been completely devasted when I leave the holiday affair. This year I am going where I know I am wanted and loved and not forced to be where I feel uncomfortably. Families are not always the most loving people. The old saying goes you can choose your friends but not your family. Go where you will be the happy.

If it has been a few years that you spent Christmas Day with your family, then you should spend it with them. It is a noble thing to help those who have none, but dont forget the ones that made you who you are. They love you the most, and will miss you the most.
